GTA VI Proposed Currency Sharkbux Appears on SEC Docket
A proposed in-game currency for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) called Sharkbux has appeared on a US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) docket, along with possible implementation details on the Solana blockchain.
The documents were submitted to the SEC by Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., but corporate authorization of the submissions remains unresolved.
A proposed GTA VI currency called Sharkbux would be restricted in its transferability, with players unable to exchange it freely. Instead, transfers would need to go through company-mediated mechanisms, while approved creators could redeem earned units through a separate program controlled by the company.
The documents also mention a possible SPL-token architecture on Solana, but do not establish that a Solana integration has been completed.
