GUC Revenue Dips Amid Crypto Shipping Delays, Gross Margin Surges

Share

Global Unichip Corp. (GUC) reported Q2 2026 revenue of NT$6.1 billion, down 13% quarter-over-quarter to $188.4 million.

The drop was largely due to cryptocurrency client shipments being delayed as U.S. BIS export controls forced a sudden shift of packaging and testing operations from China to Taiwan.

Gross margin bucked the trend, rising 5.2 percentage points QoQ to 33.3%, driven by a lower NRE revenue mix and one-time design change fees.

President Dai Shang-Yi acknowledged the painful geopolitical adjustments but stated they are largely complete, expressing confidence in 2026 revenue growth.
