Gumi Commits $86M to XRP Strategy in Japan, Aims for Largest Corporate Holder
Gumi, a gaming and blockchain company backed by SBI Group, has committed $86 million to XRP strategy in Japan. The company consolidated its corporate treasury into XRP, aiming to become Japan's largest corporate holder of the token. This move is part of a broader institutional strategy around XRP's use in payments, tokenization, and finance.
The SBI-backed Gumi also launched an $18.3 million actively managed fund that will diversify across Bitcoin and other digital assets as market conditions change. The company is addressing the operational burden that often blocks institutions from adopting digital assets at scale with a new institutional accounting platform developed by Hinode Technologies.
The platform, which will automate staking rewards, gas fees, and onchain transactions, will integrate with existing accounting software and connect treasury management, investment products, and enterprise infrastructure across Japan. Gumi's $86 million XRP commitment is part of a coordinated push spanning treasury management, investment products, and enterprise infrastructure.
