Gumi Launches $18.3M Crypto Fund with SBI Financial Services
Japanese game developer Gumi has launched a crypto asset fund in partnership with SBI Financial Services. The $18.3 million fund will invest primarily in Bitcoin and major altcoins, using staking, portfolio rebalancing, and hedging strategies.
The fund is operated by SBI Crypto Fund, a joint venture owned 51% by SBI Financial Services and 49% by Gumi subsidiary gC Labs. The launch builds on Gumi's expanding crypto business, which includes managing its own XRP holdings and providing portfolio management services through Hinode Technologies.
Gumi's latest annual report shows that crypto has become a significant part of its balance sheet, with the company holding 14.13 billion yen in crypto assets as of April 30, 2026, nearly doubling from 7.58 billion yen a year earlier.
