Hanwha Invests in Blockchain with Tokenized Securities Platform
South Korean brokerage Hanwha Investment & Securities has developed a tokenized securities platform on Avalanche, positioning itself ahead of new regulatory changes set to take effect in February 2027.
The system was built in partnership with blockchain firm FairSquare Lab and will run across multiple networks, including Avalanche (AVAX) and Hyperledger Besu.
The new laws in South Korea will bring security tokens into the country's existing capital markets framework, recognizing distributed ledgers as securities registers.
Hanwha's platform is ready well before the deadline, with a three-stage rollout planned by the Financial Services Commission to extend tokenization access to all publicly offered securities.
