Hanwha Launches Tokenized Securities Platform on Avalanche
South Korean giant Hanwha Group's brokerage arm, Hanwha Investment & Securities, has launched its tokenized securities platform on the Avalanche blockchain. The platform is designed to pair Avalanche's public infrastructure with enterprise blockchain Hyperledger Besu and record capital market instruments, such as stocks and bonds, on a distributed ledger.
The platform was in development since 2025 and has been built by blockchain firm FairSquare Lab. Hanwha itself has not published specific details of the platform to public users.
The launch is significant as it puts Avalanche at the center of bringing traditional assets into global on-chain markets, according to the blockchain's acknowledgement. South Korea is building towards a February 2027 deadline for legally recognizing distributed ledgers as securities registers in the country.
