Hanwha Prepares for Tokenized Securities with Multi-Blockchain Platform
Hanwha Investment & Securities has completed a tokenized-securities platform that supports multiple blockchain networks, including Avalanche and Hyperledger Besu. This move comes as South Korea's Financial Services Commission announced that tokenized securities will be recognized under the Electronic Registration Act from February 4, 2027.
The platform was developed with FairSquare Lab, a blockchain-infrastructure provider working with Korean financial-market infrastructure institutions. Hanwha's platform is designed to operate across more than one blockchain network, which matters in a market where tokenized instruments may need to connect with established financial infrastructure rather than operate as isolated on-chain products.
The available reporting does not set out which securities Hanwha intends to issue or service through the platform, nor a launch timetable for specific products. The Financial Services Commission has set a defined first implementation phase, covering institutional money-market funds and bonds; unlisted stocks issued through trust structures; and publicly offered fractional-investment securities.
