Hardware Wallet Shipping Labels Exposed in Trezor Breach

When buying a hardware wallet to store your Bitcoin, you may think you're securing your private keys, but a recent development has highlighted a surprising vulnerability - the shipping label.

Trezor, a popular manufacturer of hardware wallets, recently disclosed that approximately 80,689 customers were affected by a breach involving their shipping provider, ShipMonk. The compromised information included names and addresses of customers who purchased Trezor devices between 2019 and 2021.

The issue arises from the fact that shipping companies often retain records of customer information for years, even after the purchase has been completed. This can create a problem if a stranger obtains this information, as it could be used to impersonate someone trusted by the wallet owner.
