Hargreaves Lansdown Adds Crypto ETNs to Investment Platform
Hargreaves Lansdown, Britain's largest retail investment platform, has expanded its offerings to include access to Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded notes (ETNs). This move marks a significant shift for the firm, which previously warned investors about cryptocurrency risks.
The platform has listed nine crypto ETNs from issuers including BlackRock's iShares, WisdomTree, 21Shares, Invesco, CoinShares, and Bitwise. Fees range from zero to 0.35%.
This development follows the UK Financial Conduct Authority's lifting of its four-year ban on retail access to qualifying crypto ETNs in October 2025. Hargreaves Lansdown is limiting access to investors who meet additional eligibility and risk-assessment requirements, serving over two million clients with more than $200 billion under management.
