Harmony and Router Protocol Shutdowns Prompt Token Migrations

Crypto projects Harmony and Router Protocol have announced they are winding down operations. Harmony plans to shut down its mainnet, citing growing threats from state actors and AI agents as a major factor in this decision.

The team behind Harmony will move the ONE token to Ethereum via an ERC-20 airdrop, with user balances recorded at the network's final block. The snapshot will cover tokens in wallets, staking, validator rewards, smart contracts, and on centralized exchanges.

Routers Protocol is also shutting down, citing changes in the Web3 market as a major factor. The team linked declining bridge fee revenue to high infrastructure maintenance costs, and after exploring various options, including commercializing the technology or licensing, decided that none of these paths ensured long-term viability.
