Harmony Hit by Massive Exploit: 4 Billion ONE Tokens Minted
Harmony, a proof-of-stake blockchain, has been exploited through an unauthorized minting of its native ONE token. According to reports from user Juiceberg on X, around 4 billion ONE tokens were created using empty blocks.
The attacker is estimated to have around 115 million ONE tokens left to sell, with the majority already being sold or held in exchange deposit wallets. The total value of the stolen tokens is approximately $3.2 million at current prices.
ONE token has plummeted by 34% over the past 24 hours, trading at around $0.0008. Harmony confirmed the exploit and is working with its team and exchanges to stop and freeze the funds. The incident remains under investigation.
