Hashcats Minting Slows Amid Doubling Entry Price
The browser-based mining project Hashcats is facing a slowdown in minting activity, which is affecting its buyback mechanism. The project's tenth epoch has seen significantly fewer mints than expected, with only 4,566 recorded in recent days.
This is well below the pace needed to hit the project's target of 16,376 cats mined.
The slowdown is particularly concerning because it's happening at a critical moment when the entry price for epoch 10 has doubled to roughly 0.164 ETH, making it less economical for participants to continue mining.
The buyback mechanism, which burns $HASH tokens and replenishes them with new mints, is also under pressure due to reduced minting activity.
