Hashdex Bitcoin ETF Becomes First U.S. Spot ETF to be Liquidated
The Hashdex Bitcoin ETF has announced that it will be shutting down due to lack of investor interest, becoming the first U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF to be liquidated since its introduction.
The ETF had assets under management worth $14.7 million as of July 30, but despite growing demand for spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds, smaller players like Hashdex struggle to compete with larger ones.
The closure schedule is set, with trading ending on August 17 and the fund ceasing listing on the NYSE Arca after that date.
