HashKey Cloud Backs Stacks' Genesis Bond Pilot
HashKey Cloud has backed Stacks' Genesis Bond pilot to demonstrate institutional interest in native Bitcoin yields. The Asian infrastructure provider will deploy Bitcoin on Stacks, making it the second institution announced for the network's Genesis Bond program.
The bond requires participants to pair their Bitcoin with STX worth around 5% of the committed BTC position. This pairing determines the participant's Bitcoin capacity and exposes them to STX price movements for approximately six months.
Stacks' miners commit BTC as they compete to produce blocks and receive STX block rewards. Protocol-bond holders will receive their target return first from this pool, which targets about 3% annualized returns from the committed BTC.
The design of the Genesis Bond separates principal custody from return generation. Bitcoin keys remain with the participant, while the yield carries STX market exposure and Stacks protocol risk.
