HashKey Merges Regional Exchanges into Unified Platform
HashKey Holdings Limited has unified its regional exchanges into a single platform, aiming to surpass Coinbase's trading volume by 2029. The new Crypto Trading App, launched on July 27, combines previously separate exchange products for users worldwide.
The app adjusts compliance rules automatically based on user KYC and KYB credentials, detecting their jurisdiction through verification credentials. For example, a Hong Kong user sees only Hong Kong-licensed offerings, while a Dubai user sees what the VARA license permits.
HashKey has been quietly assembling a broad portfolio of exchange licenses in various regions, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Bermuda. It added a Dubai VARA VASP license in May 2025 for its HashKey Global MENA operations.
The company has stated its ambition to surpass Coinbase's trading volume by 2029, leveraging the recently reopened retail crypto market in Hong Kong and other key hubs like Singapore and Dubai.
