HashKey's Banking Partnerships Surge as JPMorgan Deepens Its Role
HashKey Exchange has been quietly building relationships with traditional financial institutions in Asia. The latest development is an approval from JPMorgan to open a client segregated funds account, making HashKey the first licensed digital asset exchange in Asia cleared for this specific type of JPMorgan account.
This is one part of a sequence of seven partnerships and collaborations that HashKey has established in just eight months. These include partnerships with Mox Bank, DBS Bank, Shanghai Commercial Bank/Visa, and an agreement to acquire Singapore's Asia Pacific Exchange (APEX).
JPMorgan's involvement with HashKey is notable given the bank's CEO, Jamie Dimon, has been critical of Bitcoin in the past. However, JPMorgan's blockchain and digital asset initiatives focus on infrastructure and research, rather than a specific stance on Bitcoin.
