Haverhill Man Sentenced to Prison for Cryptocurrency Fraud
A Haverhill man has been sentenced to a year in federal prison for his role in a cryptocurrency fraud case. Luciano Schipelliti, 29, was found guilty of wire fraud and ordered to pay $350,000 in restitution. He hid losses from investors, causing them hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages.
The U.S. Attorney's Office stated that Schipelliti pleaded guilty in April to a count of wire fraud. His sentence was handed down on August 11th in federal court in Boston.
