Hayes Sees $1 Million Bitcoin, But Picks Ethereum Over Hyperliquid
Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, believes Bitcoin has the potential to reach $1 million by 2030 due to factors such as the collapse of the AI bubble and massive money printing. However, he's currently investing in Ethereum instead, as it could see a '3x to 5x' increase in value quickly.
Hayes points out that Bitcoin has all the necessary ingredients for a price surge, but acknowledges that reaching $1 million would require significant capital inflows. He notes that past performance may not be indicative of future results, and that other factors such as US yield curve control could also impact prices.
Hayes' comments come after Markus Thielen, head of research at 10x Research, stated that reaching a $1 million price for Bitcoin by 2030 is 'mathematically impossible'. Hayes disagrees with this assessment, but notes that the current market environment makes it challenging to predict outcomes.
Hayes also expressed his optimism about Ethereum's potential, citing its use as a base layer for DeFi and its current undervalued status. He believes that Ethereum could see significant gains in the near future due to its long-term fundamentals.
