Hayes Sees Bitcoin Surpass $250,000 on Endless Money Printing
Arthur Hayes, founder and chief investment officer of Maelstrom, believes Bitcoin's price could reach $250,000 in the face of ongoing monetary policy changes. Speaking on Anthony Pompliano's podcast, Hayes argued that governments and central banks will continue to inject liquidity into the market to avoid a credit crunch tied to the AI spending boom.
Hayes pointed to recent Treasury bond-buyback efforts as an early signal that policymakers have effectively placed a ceiling on yields they are willing to tolerate. He noted that the 30-year yield has moved back near 4.70% after each attempt to pull it lower, and further intervention is likely if long-term yields remain elevated.
Bitcoin's current price of around $78,603 reflects the market beginning to price in this liquidity outlook, according to Hayes. He expects a more gradual 'stair-step' climb as excess liquidity flows into crypto markets, rather than a moonshot rally.
