Hegotá Upgrade Narrows Down Focus to Two Key Ethereum Proposals
The Ethereum Foundation's Hegotá upgrade has been reviewed and only two proposals have made it to the top tier. The upgraded protocol cluster, which included feedback from around 60 researchers and engineers, reviewed a total of 62 EIPs. Of these, one proposal, Fork-Choice Enforced Inclusion Lists (EIP-7805), was given a unanimous S rating by contributors who graded it.
EIP-7805 aims to enable transactions to be put into blocks without relying solely on centralized transaction builders, protecting Ethereum from censorship. Another key proposal, Frame Transactions (EIP-8141), received a 3.89/9 grade and is seen as the execution-layer headliner. It aims to enhance Ethereum's own account-abstraction features.
While 28 proposals were rejected due to unnecessary protocol complexities, security issues, or incompatibility with longer-term development goals of Ethereum, 15 proposals landed in A-tier. These include EIP-8015, which removes obsolete deposit and eth1data field, and EIP-8334, which minimizes gossip in the consensus layer.
