Hey Wallet Shuts Down, Urges Users to Back Up and Export Assets
Hey Wallet, a Solana-based social wallet that enabled users to send crypto through their X handles and tip creators on Discord, has announced it's shutting down. The service posted the news on its official X account, instructing users to back up their wallets at heywallet.com before the shutdown.
No specific date was given for when Hey Wallet will go offline, nor a reason why it's ceasing operations. Users are advised to export their private keys and move assets elsewhere.
Hey Wallet launched in 2021 as a result of a Solana hackathon with the aim of connecting web2 social networks with blockchain functionality.
The service allowed users to send SOL to someone’s X handle, tip content creators on Discord, swap tokens through Telegram, and mint NFTs from within their existing social platforms.
