HKEX Welcomes First Combined Bitcoin-Gold ETF
MicroBit Capital Management has launched Hong Kong's first combined Bitcoin and gold ETF on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The MicroBit Bitcoin & Gold Value ETF, with ticker codes 3002.HK for HKD-denominated shares and 9002.HK for USD-denominated ones, started trading on August 26.
The active management fund uses periodic rebalancing to maintain target allocations between the two assets. It also supports in-kind subscriptions and redemptions in Bitcoin for eligible market participants, allowing investors to deposit actual Bitcoin or redeem shares for Bitcoin directly.
MicroBit CEO Wilson Fung sees this product as a bridge between traditional finance and the Web3 ecosystem, meeting substantial investor demand for stable assets during economically challenging times. This is not MicroBit's first foray into crypto-linked exchange-traded products, having introduced low-fee spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs in August 2025.
