Hoffman's Altcoin Experiment: A Look at His Recent Portfolio Performance
David Hoffman, co-founder of Bankless, made headlines in May when he sold his entire Ethereum holdings and invested in several alternative cryptocurrencies. This move sparked debate within the crypto community due to Bankless's strong association with the Ethereum ecosystem.
According to data provided by DeFi researcher Ignas, Hoffman shifted a portion of his portfolio to LIT, ZEC, NEAR, and VVV tokens after selling ETH. The performance of these assets has now come under scrutiny.
LIT rose significantly, increasing in value by approximately 369%, while Zcash (ZEC) saw an increase of around 110%. NEAR also performed well, rising by about 54% during the same period. In contrast, Ethereum's growth was limited to around 8%.
However, VVV, one of Hoffman's preferred assets, did not fare as well, losing approximately 6 percent of its value. The data highlights the varying performance of these alternative cryptocurrencies in comparison to Ethereum.
