Hoffman's Ethereum Sell-Off Pays Off: Five Assets Outperform ETH
David Hoffman, co-founder of Bankless and a long-time Ethereum advocate, sold his last bit of ETH on May 21. He claimed that the vibe on crypto Twitter had changed lately.
Three months later, it was revealed that he bought four assets: VVV, NEAR, ZEC, and HYPE. He also invested in LIT through dollar-cost averaging (DCA), with a portion of his funds reserved for this purpose.
Hoffman's investment thesis focused on the structural growth of the derivatives sector and cross-chain infrastructure. He believed that Lighter, the exchange token built on zkRollup, was undervalued compared to HYPE.
The results were impressive: ZEC rose over 120%, while LIT saw a 135% to 210% increase in value. NEAR gained around 69%. HYPE and VVV performed less well, but still delivered solid returns.
