Holiday Lull Hits Crypto Markets Hard
The year-end holiday lull has taken its toll on digital asset markets, with major cryptocurrencies recording a significant drop in trading volumes.
Data from Santiment shows that Bitcoin and altcoins have seen their trading activity fall steadily over the final weeks of 2025.
Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, and Dogecoin are now reporting less than half their weekly trading volumes compared to late 2024.
Santiment attributes this decline to flat price movement and year-end holidays pulling traders away from markets.
The firm notes that the drop in volumes reflects weaker short-term interest rather than panic selling, with social media discussions about Bitcoin also falling since mid-November.
