Hoskinson Accuses Ethereum of Quietly Copying Cardano's EUTXO Design

Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano (ADA), has accused Ethereum (ETH) developers of quietly adopting Cardano's Extended Unspent Transaction Output (EUTXO) design without giving credit. This comes after a new research proposal was published on Ethereum that suggests treating simple payments as temporary one-shot objects rather than permanent account-state entries.

The proposal, put forth by Ethereum Foundation researcher Toni Wahrstätter, aims to reduce the growth of Ethereum's state by about 99.8%. This approach is similar to Bitcoin's (BTC) UTXO model, where each output is created once, spent once, and then leaves the active memory set.

Hoskinson has responded to the proposal with an accusation that Ethereum developers are copying Cardano's EUTXO design without acknowledging its origins. He pointed out that mentioning Cardano in this context would be seen as a 'crime' within Ethereum circles.
