Hoskinson Backs Warren on Trump's Cryptocurrency Involvement
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has weighed in on the controversy surrounding President Donald Trump's involvement in cryptocurrency, echoing concerns raised by Senator Elizabeth Warren. According to Warren, the latest version of the Clarity Act does not sufficiently prevent the president from financially benefiting from his crypto-related activities. The bill aims to introduce ethics restrictions, prohibiting the President, Vice President, and members of Congress from issuing or sponsoring digital assets while serving in office.
Hoskinson argued that the president's involvement in financial markets is inherently problematic due to their unique position of power and information. He described Trump as 'the ultimate insider' and stated that stronger safeguards are necessary to prevent potential conflicts of interest and preserve public confidence in cryptocurrency policymaking. Hoskinson has previously expressed similar concerns, citing the misguided approach to cryptocurrency regulation as a major obstacle to bipartisan cooperation.
