Hoskinson Hunts for Governance Fixes in Cardano's DAO Quagmire
Cardano's governance structure is facing intense scrutiny from its founder Charles Hoskinson as he launches a comprehensive review of over 11,000 decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs).
Hoskinson's initiative aims to overhaul Cardano's (ADA) dispute resolution mechanisms and potentially introduce constitutional reforms through the network's constitution and new technology.
The review comes amidst a heated debate over funding for IOG's treasury proposal, which is currently tracking towards defeat with 87% of Delegated Representatives voting against it. The proposal seeks to allocate 32.9 million ADA to fund Cardano's research roadmap in 2026.
Hoskinson has warned that if the proposal fails, IOG will not resubmit it, potentially forcing layoffs and shutting down some research labs. He is considering registering as a DRep himself to gain direct voting power and may hold a mini-convention before the 2027 governance cycle to rally stakeholders behind constitutional reform.
