Hoskinson Sees End to Bear Market, ADA Set to Rebound with Real-World Use Cases
Charles Hoskinson, founder of IOHK and developer of Cardano (ADA), believes that the current bear market is temporary. In a recent speech at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, he stated that another bull market will follow, but this time it won't be driven by speculative funds alone.
Hoskinson argued that to attract new investors and capital, the industry must shift its focus from being finance-asset-centric to infrastructure that solves real problems. He emphasized the importance of delivering products that are easier and safer for ordinary users, rather than requiring them to understand complex blockchain infrastructure.
Despite Cardano's current sluggish period, with ADA falling 47.3% from its start-of-year price and briefly slipping out of the top 10 by market capitalization, Hoskinson remains optimistic about the project's medium- to long-term outlook. He predicted that ADA will return to the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization by the end of this year and could see significant gains in 2027.
Hoskinson cited DeFi strengthening efforts as a key driver for Cardano's rebound. Through initiatives such as Bitcoin DeFi and AlphaGrowth's PRIME, Cardano aims to increase capital and use cases across its ecosystem. The project also plans to boost throughput and scalability by deploying the Leios and Hydra upgrades.
Cardano is preparing to launch the RealFi mainnet by the end of this year, which will connect blockchain-based capital to real-world credit and microfinance markets. If successful, this could draw more users into the Cardano ecosystem by linking people with low access to financial services to new sources of capital.
