Hoskinson Sounds Alarm: Bitcoin Risks Losing Leadership to Quantum Threat
Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano and known for his outspoken views on cryptocurrency, has issued a warning to Bitcoin. Speaking on The Starting Block program, Hoskinson stated that Bitcoin will face its biggest test with the development of quantum computing technology.
According to Hoskinson, if Bitcoin fails to make necessary updates in time, it could lose its title as the world's largest cryptocurrency. He argued that Bitcoin's governance model is its biggest weakness, making it difficult to make significant changes to the network.
Hoskinson acknowledged that Bitcoin has overcome various challenges since its inception, but noted that quantum computing presents different risks. He emphasized the need for coordinated, network-wide technical updates to overcome this threat.
