Hoskinson Unveils Private ADA DeFi Plans, Tackling Institutional Hurdles
Cardano's founder Charles Hoskinson has discussed the future of Cardano in relation to private ADA DeFi, aiming to address weaknesses in the decentralized finance landscape. According to Hoskinson, the current transparency of DeFi comes with a major disadvantage - lack of confidence among institutions.
The Cardano blockchain is undergoing profound development, fixing the lack of transaction privacy in the DeFi ecosystem through privacy-preserving ADA DeFi. This technology offers confidential on-chain applications, including lending pools and order books, allowing for next-gen DeFi products that are fully encrypted.
Hoskinson mentioned the Dijkstra upgrade as the driving force behind this development. The upgrade is scheduled to be released in two phases - Ouroboros Linear Leios (Q4 2026) and Ouroboros Peras (Q2 2027). Additionally, a new fourth-generation privacy-dedicated chain called Midnight Network has been unveiled, connected to the Cardano network.
