Hoskinson Warns CLARITY Act May Die as Crypto Becomes Partisan Issue
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has warned that Democrats will kill the CLARITY Act if it is brought to a vote. He claims that crypto has become a partisan issue tied to former US President Donald Trump.
Hoskinson made this statement on X, where he also stated that 'the 2026 talking points are Crypto = Trump = Corruption'. This means that the left will likely fall in line and vote against all crypto bills. The CLARITY Act aims to define when a digital asset is treated as a security versus a commodity.
Hoskinson believes the process of rolling out this legislation was mishandled, specifically blaming David Sacks for mismanagement. He argues that the association with Trump-era politics and a White House-linked crypto narrative damaged bipartisan trust.
The Cardano founder fears that if lawmakers treat crypto as a side in the culture war, compromise will become much harder. The outcome would be that bills could stall or get watered down.
