Hougan Calls Bitcoin and Zcash Long-Term Winners Amid Tokenization Super Cycle
Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan has named Bitcoin and Zcash as his top picks for investors looking to hold assets for the next decade. He cited government currency debasement, institutional flows, and a model of sovereign debt dynamics that sketched an illustrative bitcoin fair value of $224,000 in 2026.
Hougan also highlighted Zcash's growing adoption and demand for financial privacy as AI reshapes how financial activity is monitored. The asset has crossed the $1,000 mark for the first time since its launch in 2016, with a market cap of over $17 billion that now ranks above Dogecoin.
In addition to these individual assets, Hougan sees a decade-long tokenization super cycle driving growth in Ethereum ($ETH), Solana ($SOL), and Uniswap ($UNI) and others. He believes tokenization will be the business that makes the rest of the industry matter, with stablecoins and financial advisors playing key roles.
