Hougan Identifies Top Picks in Crypto Market: Bitcoin, Zcash, and Tokenization

Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan has identified three key stories in the crypto market that he believes will shape its future. The first is Bitcoin, which he sees as a hedge against currency debasement. He argues that governments' increasing borrowing and weakening currencies will lead to hard assets like Bitcoin gaining value.

Hougan also recommends Zcash for its privacy features, which he believes will become increasingly important as AI reshapes financial activity. Zcash has recently surpassed $1,000 in price and has a market capitalization of over $17 billion.

The third key story is tokenization, which Hougan sees as a decade-long super cycle driven by the growth of stablecoins and revenue-generating tokens. He identifies Ethereum, Solana, and Uniswap as key players in this space.

Hougan has been predicting that Bitcoin will break its four-year cycle and set new highs in 2026, and his firm's model suggests a fair value for Bitcoin of $224,000.
