House Committee Set to Review Cryptocurrency Tax Bills on September 16
The U.S. House Ways and Means Committee has scheduled a review of two bills that could impact how U.S. miners, stakers, and traders calculate federal taxes on September 16.
H.R. 9175, also known as the Tax Clarity for Mining and Staking Act, would create an optional income-deferral system for qualifying mining and staking rewards.
This means eligible taxpayers could elect to postpone recognition of certain tokens received during a tax year, with the election continuing in later years unless revoked by Treasury approval.
