House Probes Chinese-Backed Network Targeting US Data Centers

The House Ways and Means Committee has launched an investigation into Neville Roy Singham's network of activist nonprofits, which are funded by the billionaire and have ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

Singham's organizations, including the People's Forum, have been accused of promoting antisemitic hate and playing a role in China's war on US data centers. According to reports from the Bitcoin Policy Institute, Singham's network has amplified Beijing's efforts to feed Americans' fears about data centers, which are crucial for AI development.

Data centers use significantly less water than any other industry, often have their own power plants, and create good jobs in construction. Despite this, China's campaign to dismantle US data centers continues, with new pushes in Pennsylvania and New York, where Governor Kathy Hochul has implemented a statewide ban.
