HTX Denies Authorizing Disputed Cryptocurrency Transfers Amid Kraken Restrictions
HTX has denied any involvement in disputed cryptocurrency microtransfers that led to compliance issues at Kraken and other exchanges. The controversy began on August 20, when users observed small unsolicited USDT transfers from addresses labeled as associated with HTX.
An internal review by HTX found no evidence of a coordinated effort to instigate such transfers, suggesting instead that affected users may have executed these transactions independently, possibly as a test or protest of Kraken's restrictions.
The U.K. government confirmed that its designation of Huobi Global extends to HTX based on ownership regulations currently in place. Kraken has since clarified that due to British sanctions on entities linked to Huobi, they are obligated to impose restrictions on funds transferred directly into customer accounts associated with such addresses.
