HTX-Linked Microtransfers Fuel Compliance Fears Amid EU Sanctions

A wave of unsolicited microtransfers from wallets linked to the HTX exchange has raised alarm across the crypto community, with users warning that even small amounts of tainted USDT could trigger sanctions screening and freeze their accounts.

The transfers, typically ranging from a couple of dollars to 12 USDT, have been reported by multiple users on BNB Smart Chain and decentralized platforms. While HTX has denied deliberately distributing the funds, the source and purpose of the microtransactions remain unconfirmed.

The concern centers on how blockchain compliance systems trace exposure between addresses. An unsolicited transfer from a tagged wallet can create an onchain connection even when the recipient never requested or controlled the transaction.
