Humain Aims for 6GW Data Center Capacity with $3B Fund
Humain, an AI company owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, is expanding its data center footprint in a major way. The company has reportedly established a fund of up to $3 billion dedicated to building data centers across Saudi Arabia. This financing push already involves several strategic partners, including Goldman Sachs and the National Infrastructure Fund.
The scale of Humain's plans is enormous: it aims to reach 6 GW of AI data center capacity by 2034, with an interim target of 1.9 GW by 2030. To put this in perspective, a single gigawatt can power around 750,000 average US homes.
Humain has already secured land access for up to 14 GW of power across 211 plots, indicating that the infrastructure groundwork is well underway. The company has also locked in a $1.2 billion framework with Saudi Arabia's National Infrastructure Fund for 250 MW of capacity and is working on a separate financing package potentially exceeding $5.33 billion with Goldman Sachs.
Humain has awarded contracts to Al Moammar Information Systems to add 200 MW of new data center capacity, effectively quadrupling the existing footprint under that partnership. The company is also collaborating with DataVolt at NEOM's Oxagon district on a planned 1.5 GW campus, contributing 100 MW to the project.
