Humanoid Raises $152M, Secures 34k Robot Orders in $2.4B Pipeline
London-based Humanoid has made significant strides in the humanoid robot industry, raising $152 million in Series A funding at a $1.35 billion post-money valuation. In just two years, the company has grown from a small startup to a leading player, employing over 250 people across four locations.
The company's founder and CEO, Artem Sokolov, started Humanoid with $30 million of his own money in May 2024. He drew inspiration from his grandparents' experience working in a jewelry factory, where they spent most of their lives doing repetitive and physically demanding work.
Humanoid's wheeled version of its HMND 01 platform was built in just seven months, while the bipedal version took five. This is impressively fast compared to the industry norm of 18-24 months. The company has also hired over 50 veterans from other humanoid robot companies, including Boston Dynamics and Sanctuary AI.
Humanoid's robots are designed to automate repetitive tasks in industries such as manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and energy. The company has secured over 34,000 pre-orders for its wheeled industrial robot, representing a massive $2.4 billion pipeline. This is not only a testament to the strong demand for Humanoid's technology but also a major milestone for the industry.
Sokolov emphasized that his mission is personal and driven by a desire to free people from repetitive and physically demanding work. He believes that technology can take over these tasks, allowing humans to focus on more fulfilling activities. The company's roadmap is aggressive, with plans to scale production and deploy its robots across the globe.
