Hungary Ditches Mandatory Validator Rule for Cryptocurrency

Hungary has repealed its mandatory crypto validator rule, bringing its regulatory framework closer to the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regime.

The country introduced a validator requirement under its 2024 Crypto Act, effective July 2025, which required certain transactions to receive approval from licensed domestic validators before they could be legally recognized.

The system operated alongside MiCA regulation but imposed a significantly shorter transition period than other EU member states, complicating compliance without delivering sufficient benefits.

CoinCash has secured Hungary's first authorization under the MiCA framework and plans to gradually restore services after suspending operations due to the previous rules.
