Hungary Repeals Crypto Transaction Validation Rule Amid First MiCA License Award
Hungary has made significant changes to its crypto regulations by repealing its requirement for the validation of crypto transactions. This shift in policy coincides with CoinCash, operated by Tiwala Solutions Kft., becoming the country's first recipient of a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license under the EU's MiCA framework.
The repeal of the validation rule marks a pivotal turn for Hungary's crypto landscape, positioning MiCA licensing as the primary regulatory standard for crypto service providers within the country. The EU's MiCA regulation, effective since December 2024, provides a standardized framework for crypto-asset service providers across member states.
CoinCash's new license allows it to offer a wide range of services, including custody and exchange services. This move is seen as indicative of Hungary's more favorable stance towards the crypto industry, potentially enhancing its attractiveness as a hub for digital assets. As a result, this could have ripple effects across the broader European market.
