Hungary Scraps Controversial Crypto Validation System Amid Regulatory Overhaul
Hungary's crypto transaction validation system has been eliminated after it was deemed to contradict European Union regulations. The repeal removes an additional verification tier that existed alongside standard MiCA requirements, allowing licensed firms to execute qualified transactions without validator documentation.
The previous regulations forced crypto businesses to halt operations and scale back their presence in Hungary due to the confusion caused by overlapping verification and licensing requirements. Multiple enterprises paused operations or evaluated relocating activities to alternative European jurisdictions.
CoinCash, a Hungarian-based firm, has obtained MiCA authorization from the country's National Bank on July 20. The license encompasses custody services, exchange operations, transfers, investment consultation, and portfolio administration.
