Hunter Biden Launches Meme Coin LAPTOP to Counter Struggling Trump Token
Hunter Biden, son of former President Joe Biden, is launching a new meme coin called LAPTOP on Coinbase's Base platform on September 9. This move comes as a response to the Trump token, which has plummeted nearly 97% from its peak since President Donald Trump endorsed it. The total supply of LAPTOP will be one billion coins, with Hunter Biden and other founders holding 30% under a vesting schedule.
A significant portion of the tokens will be distributed among those who lost money on the Trump token, as well as subscribers to Hunter Biden's Substack and a mailing list curated by journalist Andrew Callaghan. Additionally, some coins will support charity, liquidity, and the foundation overseeing the project.
Hunter Biden has been increasingly vocal about his support for crypto, posting pro-crypto messages on X and making crypto-friendly remarks during interviews. He also accepts Bitcoin for his artwork.
