Hunter Biden Turns Controversy into Investable Asset with New Memecoin LAPTOP
Hunter Biden's new memecoin, LAPTOP, is set to launch on September 9. The token will debut on Coinbase's Base network and have a supply of 1 billion units.
The project's name references the laptop Hunter Biden left at a Delaware repair shop in 2019, whose contents became a major controversy ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
Biden has been allocated 30% of LAPTOP's supply, which will be locked for six months before vesting over two years. Another 20% is reserved for airdrops, including distributions to Biden's Substack subscribers and wallets that lost money holding President Donald Trump's TRUMP memecoin.
The token's economics are linked to various political, cultural, and crypto outcomes, with tokens potentially being burned if specified conditions are met. These conditions include Democrats winning the 2028 presidential election and Bitcoin reaching another record high.
