Hunter Biden Unveils Meme Coin Tied to Trump Token Disaster

Hunter Biden is launching a meme coin called LAPTOP on the Base blockchain network. The token's launch date is set for September 9, and it will have an initial supply of 1 billion tokens.

LAPTOP will reserve 20% of its supply for airdrops, including wallets that lost money trading TRUMP, a meme coin launched by Donald Trump in January 2025. The token's website warns that the project carries significant risk and could lose its entire value.

Another 30% of LAPTOP's supply is tied to real-world events, such as the Democrats winning the 2028 presidential election or Bitcoin reaching a new all-time high. If these events occur, the corresponding tokens will be permanently destroyed, or 'burned', and donated to charity if they do not.

The project has already generated controversy with copycats flooding the market, including at least 14 unofficial tokens using the LAPTOP name.
