Hunter Biden's Anti-Trump Memecoin LAPTOP Falls 99.8% in Value

Hunter Biden's anti-Trump memecoin, LAPTOP, has seen a significant drop in value since its peak on September 9th. The token peaked at $199.51 but is now trading at just $0.38, representing an enormous loss of 99.8%.

This dramatic decline can be attributed to the unique mechanism built into the memecoin. Out of its one billion tokens, 30% are tied to public predictions about real political events. If these events occur, the corresponding tokens are burned, effectively reducing the supply and increasing value. However, if the events do not happen, the tokens go to charity.

The mechanism recently triggered twice, resulting in a significant loss for the token's holders. The first event was triggered when Beeple, a digital artist, publicly mentioned LAPTOP, burning 5 million tokens worth $9.75 million at its current price. Eric Trump unwittingly triggered the second event by mentioning LAPTP, which burned another 5 million tokens, valued at $9.75 million.

Hunter Biden confirmed both events and announced that 10 million tokens, representing 1% of the total supply, had been removed from circulation. This loss amounts to approximately $3.56 million at the current price.
