Hunter Biden's new meme coin, LAPTOP, is set to launch on September 9th on the Base blockchain network developed by Coinbase. The token is a direct shot at former President Donald Trump and his infamous TRUMP meme coin.
The name 'LAPTOP' refers to the Mac laptop that Hunter Biden left at a Delaware repair shop in 2019, which became a major political flashpoint during the 2020 presidential campaign.
About 20% of the token supply is reserved for airdrops, including distributions to wallets that lost money trading TRUMP. This move effectively uses Trump investors' losses as part of LAPTOP's marketing strategy.
Another 30% of the supply is connected to real-world events, and if certain conditions are met, the corresponding tokens will be permanently destroyed, a process called 'burn.' The project combines politics, cryptocurrency, and culture in an unusual prediction-style layer.
