Hunter Biden's LAPTOP Memecoin Launch Set for September 9
Hunter Biden has confirmed that a memecoin called LAPTOP will launch on September 9. According to The Wall Street Journal, the token will deploy on Coinbase's Base network and include an airdrop for wallets that lost money on TRUMP, a memecoin issued in President Trump's name three days before his second inauguration. The founding team takes 30% of the total supply, locked for six months after launch, while the airdrop accounts for 20%. This is not the first time LAPTOP has appeared; a token by that name has been trading on Base since June 27.
The launch comes as at least 14 copycat tokens named LAPTOP emerged on four other networks within an hour of The Wall Street Journal's report. These tokens traded $6.9 million between them, with the largest one on Robinhood Chain reaching a fully diluted valuation of $535,206. Biden has not published tokenomics himself and his X post does not include a contract address or website.
