Husted Backs CLARITY Act Amid Passage Odds Slip to 30%
U.S. Senator Jon Husted (R-OH) has publicly endorsed the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, also known as the CLARITY Act, citing its importance for U.S. leadership in digital assets.
The bill aims to create a comprehensive federal framework for crypto oversight, splitting jurisdiction between the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Husted emphasized the need for regulatory certainty to stay competitive in the sector, saying 'If the U.S. is going to lead in digital assets, we need a framework that is clear, practical, and supports innovation and job creation here at home.'
The CLARITY Act has been advanced by the Senate Banking Committee but still faces obstacles, including a requirement for covered officials to divest crypto holdings or place them in a blind trust, which Democrats argue is not strict enough.
